YouTube SEO tools are on the rise and the selection and variety is growing every day. There’s no doubt that they’re helpful for up and coming YouTubers to get discovered on the platform and they keep the big YouTubers up in the ranks. From keyword research to meta-data optimization, these tools cover most (if not all) bases and help YouTubers realize their full potential - when used correctly.
In the realm of YouTube tools, MorningFame is shrouded in mystery. The platform is “invite-only” accessible and without an invite, you just can’t use it. That makes it both really hyped and very, very unknown.
So in this article, we’re going to give you a sneak peek into MorningFame. We’re going to show you how it works, what you get with it and in the end give our final thoughts about it, especially in comparison to SEO tool giants like VidIQ and TubeBuddy. So without further ado, let’s get started.
The Analytics Report is one of the options you get with MorningFame.
The Traction Tab is the Analytics Report’s homepage. It closely looks at your numbers and tells you whether or not your channel is progressing or stagnating. This gives you an indication of whether or not you need to start making any steps towards growing on YouTube (and the answer is always “yes” - because there’s never enough when it comes to YouTube growth!).
The Strategy tab is the starting point to identifying what your next step on YouTube is going to be. It will show you a graph with different analytics metrics and compare you to the average. This way, you can see where you need to perform better and think of a plan to do so.
This tab is an extension of the Strategy tab. The graph in the Strategy tab might recommend that you work on your engagement, like in the example above. So then, you go to the Workshop tab for engagement and it’ll help you with increasing it by showing you exactly what type of engagement you need to improve on your channel.
MorningFame will tell you what you need to do in order to improve your channel performances, as you can see in this example for Gained Subscribers -
The Velocity tab shows you how well your videos are performing in the first 72 hours of publishing them. This tab also allows you to compare between videos on a fair basis - all of the videos are compared on how well they did in the first 72 hours of them being published.
The topic you select can give you a huge advantage in driving more views to your videos. MorningFame allows you to come up with the topic on your own, copy and paste a video link that inspired you to create a video on a certain topic or even take inspiration from your existing content to dive further into the topic at hand. You can even look at channels that are similar to yours to gather inspiration from for your next video’s topic.
The next step in the process will show you common vs. uncommon keywords, tailoring the keywords to channel size (big channels should and could go for more common keywords and the uncommon keywords are more suitable for smaller channels to target).
After selecting a keyword in step #2, you’re immediately taken to step #3. Step #3 will show you your Ranking Opportunity for your chosen keyword. The grades rate the ranking opportunity your channel has if you create a video that targets the given search term.
This step in the process helps you optimize your video using the keyword for the best relevance score. The higher the relevance score is at the end of the process, the more optimized your video is for that keyword. There’s not much more to it - simply type in your title, description and tags and watch MorningFame work and calculate the relevance score for your video.
Pricing-wise, MorningFame is definitely reasonably priced. The only difference between the plans is that with the Plus plan, you get unlimited access to the Keyword Research Tool. If you’re creating a lot of videos and need to do a lot of keyword research, that might be a huge benefit for you.
To be quite fair, we don’t think so. You can do keyword research with any of the other tools we’ve covered (whether or not is TubeBuddy worth it is a whole different story). We honestly wouldn’t fork out the cash for this platform.
MorningFame is mysterious and hyped up because it’s invitation-only accessible and you really need to go down the YouTube rabbithole to find an invitation link for the platform. That said, it doesn’t offer much and is quite complicated to understand at first. The grading system makes it feel a little bit juvenile but for starting YouTubers, there’s no doubt that it helps teach the ropes. If you can get your hands on an invitation, definitely join in for the free trial and see if it works for you.
Overall, we found MorningFame to be underwhelming. We got sucked in because of the mystery and hype and the tools do work right - there’s no question about it. However, we expected more out of this YouTube SEO tool. They completely neglected thumbnail design and practices, they disregarded the option to bulk edit videos (which TubeBuddy and VidIQ allow you to do) and there’s not one productivity tool to redeem the platform.
